Community Room, Goodnow Library

Booking Period: Between 1 hour and 8 hours
The Community Room is located on the first floor of the library and is available for booking during business hours beginning 1 hour after opening. The lobby, hallway and other areas adjacent to the Community Room are not extensions of the room. The doors to the Community Room must be kept closed during meetings to ensure that those using or working in other areas of the library are not disturbed. The cost for the use of this room is $50 for a half-day event (4 hours or less), $100 for a full-day event (in excess of 4 hours), or $150 for recitals and events utilizing the piano. Typically, recital-type events are booked for 4-hour increments.
The Community Room has 100 chairs and 9 rectangular tables available for use. Please discuss the configuration desired at the time of booking. The room has a maximum capacity of 180 people standing.
Every effort will be made to accommodate specified arrangement of chairs and tables made prior to events. Certain circumstances, such as limited staffing on weekends or consecutive events during the day requested, may prohibit staff from setting out furniture to specifications. Please plan to arrive early to ensure room set-up. The piano should never be moved except by library staff.
The Community Room's audio/video system is available to groups. It includes a DVD/Blu-Ray player and digital projector and a sound system. The projector can also accommodate most laptops or devices (which the group must provide) with standard output connectors. There is also an FM Assistive Listening System for the hearing impaired. Each group must provide its own operator for all equipment. All requests to use library equipment should be made at the time of reservation. The person designated as operator must schedule a training session with staff before the meeting date if they have not previously used the equipment. Please do not wait until the last minute for training, as staff may not be available on the day of the event. A touch screen at the podium controls most equipment.
Kitchen facilities are available. Food and beverages may be served in the Community Room. The organization will provide its own tablecloths, napkins, cups, silverware and other utensils. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not permitted in any area of the library.
Conference Room, Goodnow Library

Booking Period: Between 30 minutes and 8 hours
The Conference Room is located on the second floor of the library, and holds 1 table with 8 chairs. Room capacity is approximately 18. Cost for the use of this room is $10 per hour or part-hour. The historic gallery, training room, outside patio and other adjacent areas should not be considered extensions of the room. The doors leading to the outside patio should not be left open or unlocked.
