Join us on June 24 at 7:00pm for a presentation of Whales Today with Cynde McInnis, founder of The Whalemobile! What do we know about whales, and how do we know it? The presentation will explore a few of the different ways scientists are studying whales, including: acoustics, tags and biological samples. What are we learning about them? Join us and find out!
Cynde has 25+ years of experience bringing the magic of whales to people. She developed and led Cape Ann Whale Watch's Field Research and Marine Education Internship for 24 years, and has led over 2000 whale watch trips and taught about whales and the threats they face in our oceans today. While working for Ocean Alliance, Cynde participated in the Voyage of the Odyssey, a five-year global expedition designed to gather comprehensive data on the health of the world's oceans. Today, Cynde is very involved with whale conservation from many angles. She is a Board member of Aeon for Ocean. She is an adjunct professor at Salem State University, where she teaches Environmental Interpretation, Intro to Tourism as well as a freshman seminar on whales. Most recently, she co-organized a conservation campaign to ensure right whales get the protection they need by 2020.
