Hands-on Literacy: A Parent-Child Workshop for Ages 3-6

In this workshop, you and your child will participate in a fun, hands-on literacy activity—and along the way you’ll learn valuable tips and strategies from the experts about how to help your child get ready for reading and develop essential literacy skills. The workshop leaders, Jill Cordon and Leslie Overbye, are both faculty members at Fay School. 

Jill Cordon is certified as a speech language pathologist through the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is trained in the Visualizing and Verbalizing language development method. In addition to her work at Fay, Jill is an Adjunct Professor at Dean College, where she teaches courses on children with special needs. Leslie Overbye has a master’s degree as a reading specialist from Salem State University and is trained in Orton Gillingham as well as the Wilson Reading System. In her role at Fay, Leslie provides individualized support and coordinates small group work for student in grades one through six.
