One way to Build a Better World is to give back to your community! In keeping with the summer reading theme "Build a Better World," once a month Goodnow Library will facilitate a service project for kids. This month we are creating care packages for American Troops deployed overseas. During this program, kids will put together bags to ship to soldiers and write letters or cards to include in the packages. To learn more about the organization, visit supportourtroops.org/care-packages.
During this program we will be accepting unscented personal hygiene products (shampoo, chapstick, facewash, deodorant, Q-tips, etc), hand sanitizer and wet wipes, sunscreen, AA or AAA batteries, candy, gum and mints, protein or granola bars, beef jerky, and other snacks (crackers, cookies, nuts other than peanuts). All items must be new and unused.
Though we appreciate anything our patrons donate, all children are welcome to this program regardless of if they donate items or not. At the end of the program, anyone who would like can join in a group picture for a special card that will be included in each package.
Children under the age of 10 may not be left unaccompanied in the library
