Flash! Writing Very Short Fiction & Nonfiction

Thursday, November 57:00—8:30 PMOnlineGoodnow Library21 Concord Rd, Sudbury, MA, 01776

If you want to write a full-length novel or memoir, writing short will guide you to the heart of your stories.  A lot of writers devote a significant amount of time penning their literary works, only to reach a wall when they realize it doesn’t have a driving internal force.

In this three-week program, you’ll dive into the art of writing short fiction or nonfiction as a method to uncover your core truths and story themes.  Those truths/themes can be grown into longer works or stand on their own in the rapidly expanding flash market.

Each week we’ll take a different length story, read examples of that length and then dive into writing your own.  Sharing will be encouraged but optional.  The atmosphere will be supportive, engaging and fun.  Limited to 12 writers who are available for all three weeks.

The writing workshop will be led by local writer Giulietta "Julie" Nardone.  Her essays have been published in places such as Psychology Today, Spirituality & Health Magazine, Boston Globe Magazine, Chicken Soup for The Soul, Purple Clover, Christian Science Monitor and broadcast on NPR.  Her book, Feel More Alive: 30 Brilliant Ways to Reignite Your Inner Spark was released by Citrine Publishing in October 2020.

Registrants will be sent a Zoom link on the days of the program.  Please check your email for the link.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Goodnow Library.
