The Bookies had an insightful discussion of Five Invitations: Discovering What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fully by Frank Ostaseski. The author's experience in hospice care and his inclusion of Zen Buddhist philosophy and practice provided a rich dimension for our discussion. 

We'll meet again on Tuesday, September 11 at 7 pm at the Goodnow Library. Our next title is  The American Spirit: Who We Are and What We Stand For, by David McCullough, published in 2017. This is a short collection of speeches by the illustrious historian. We hope it will be a spirited and timely offering as we take our stands into the fall elections! Who will win?
