The Bookies won with our last selection, the novel, Irish Country Village, by Patrick Taylor. It's a pleasant and nostalgic tale of an Irish village set in the 1960's. Many colorful characters, including two local doctors who provide services, including "house calls", community spirit and a bit of helpful blarney, as needed.

Our next book selection will be Five Invitations: Discovering What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fully, by Frank Ostaseski, published in 2017. Co-founder of the Zen Hospice project, the author provides an "exhilarating meditation on the meaning of life and how maintaining an ever-present consciousness of death can bring us closer to our truest selves."

The Five Invitations:
-Don’t Wait
-Welcome Everything, Push Away Nothing
-Bring Your Whole Self to the Experience
-Find a Place of Rest in the Middle of Things
-Cultivate Don’t Know Mind

The "Bookies' invite your 'whole self to the experience' of our discussion. Don't wait, pick up a copy at the Circulation Desk of the Goodnow Library, where you can cultivate your mind and find a place of rest in the middle of things!
