The Bookies last met to discuss the novel, Call it Sleep, by Henry Roth, published in 1934. We called this story of an immigrant family coming to New York City a winner!

Our next discussion will take place on Tuesday, April 3, at 7 pm. We'll be using all our brain cells to read and discuss, Lives of a Cell: Notes of a Biology Watcher, by Lewis Thomas. Published in 1974, this short but prescient non-fiction science book cast a major impact on many issues, including sustainability, genetics and much more.
