The Bookies will meet once again on Tuesday, December 10th. We'll discuss the recent novel, The Friend, by Sigrid Nunez. This longtime author has created a personal story involving a woman's adoption of a dog of a recently deceased friend. The main character undergoes a deeply felt bonding with the canine. The Bookies also hope this novel creates a lucrative bonding at the discussion table!

At our last meeting, we took aim at Still Life, a murder mystery, by Louise Penny. Our discussion was lively, and none too still, as we found the author's clever handling of character and plot intricate and picturesque.
