The Bookies met again and became more enlightened about Korean/Japanese relations through the insightful novel, Pachinko, by Min Jin Lee. We advise all prospective readers to stake your bets on this very entertaining story of three generations of a Korean family within the modern era.

We're flying on to our next selection, Magpie Murders, a mystery within a mystery by Anthony Horowitz, published in 2016. We expect we'll be served a few clues of misdirection, but the Bookies hope to keep our poker faces before trapping the magpie murderer at our next discussion on Tuesday, May 14, at 7 pm.
