The Bookies met to discuss The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris, by David McCullough. As we journeyed into discussion, we uncovered the open manner of the Parisian culture yielded rich rewards for many illustrious Americans, as well as for the Bookies.

Seeking more future rewards we are doubling our stakes to select two titles for our next discussion on Tuesday, January 8, at 7 pm. A short but much regarded mystery novella, Three Blind Mice, by Agatha Christie, should reveal more than a few positive squeaks of surprise! And we've also selected a real Irish sweepstakes winner in The Dubliners, by James Joyce. A highly acclaimed collection of his short stories, including "The Dead", which will be our focus of discussion, should enliven our table of discussion after the holidays.

Keep an eye out for copies of Three Blind Mice and The Dubliners that you can pick up at the Circulation Desk at the Goodnow Library.
