At the last "Bookies" meeting, we discussed the mystery novel, Mrs. Roosevelt's Confidante, by Susan Elia MacNeal. It was a great 'new deal' to follow this historical bit of espionage through the author's main character, Maggie Hope. You might want to pick it up, along with the author's other mysteries in this series.

For our next selection, we have chosen, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee. First published and staged in 1962, this landmark drama/comedy play should scare up a pot of potential discussion as it has with many who've read or seen it through the years. We'll follow the razor-sharp dialogue between the two main characters, George and Martha, who were also portrayed in the movie version by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Place a bet on the winner of this knock-down, drag-out bout between the famous couple and their guests.

Copies of the play and the DVD of the movie version will be available at the Circulation Desk. Don't be 'afraid' to ask for one or both.
