The Bookies rode again. This time we discussed The Eighty-Dollar Champion, by Elizabeth Letts. Everyone enjoyed this heartwarming saga based on the true story of Snowman, a plowhorse that became riding champion in the late 1950's.

Our next title is The River Swimmer, by Jim Harrison, a book of two novellas published in 2014. The author, who passed away this year, has been cited as a modern master of the novella form. Also included is a title, In the Land of Unlikeness.

Harrison's characters have been known to always be in search of something meaningful. Make your own meaningful and easy search to the library where you can pick up a copy at the Circulation Desk and discover what it's all about at the Bookies' table of discussion on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 pm.
