Artist reception--Dovber Marchette

Dovber Marchette lived in Sudbury for 14 years and was the Director of Cultural Affairs and very active in the arts in the town including having been the artist in residence for the town in 1978 after having held the same position at the MFA the year before. There are two sculptures in the town that he made over 40 years ago: one is a menorah at the Temple Beth EL, and a second is a twelve foot tall steel sculpture called Guard at the Gate in front of the Josia Haynes elementary school. In addition he was involved in building Heritage Park. The exhibit in the Atkinson Ramp Gallery runs for the month of November.
